About The Cow

That is me on the right in the yellow top

This is me and my cousin Gwendolyn (in the blue romper) when we were kids.

Sometimes you have to wonder how you arrived at a particular juncture in your life…

I was not a particularly stellar student in high school mainly because I was just too cool for books and had a bit too much Southern slowness and ice tea on the porch-ness attitude.  I have always had a love for crafting and somehow managed to turn anything that I touched into a craft project (sometimes at the most inconvenient times!). Actually, my very first craft project was a crocheted hat for my sock monkey Mrs. Peabody (I was around 12 /13).  I had never crocheted in my life, but I managed to figure out how to do a single crochet, link it, drop stitches, and create a little round hat for Mrs. Peabody (she looked marvelous BTW)!  For a few years I thought about that hat and my budding crafter itch was on its way to becoming a full blown rash.

I graduated from high school hell in the early nineties and joined the Navy (the Circus would have sounded cooler). I married a cool dude, earned a commission (Naval Officer y’all), and graduated from college with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics and a Masters in Health Care Administration.

In 2005, I discovered dog shows and feel in love with two Chow Chows.  One major lesson that I learned is that dog shows have plenty of great products that you seldom see in the big-box stores and that includes all things doggie fashion.  My issue wasn’t an inability to find collars for my puffy boys that led to me to create my own line of collars, it was my passion for manipulating bold, bright, and whimsical fabrics into something beautiful and functional.  After 7 years of all things dog and cat, I am still amazed at what I can do with a little denim, rickrack, bubblegum, and a paperclip (MacGyver humor)!

My studio is bursting with fabulously fabrics, sparkly trims, imported ribbons, and wild hair brained ideas to keep me busy and your four-legged babe looking FABULOUS (and a bit odd – in a good way)!  So, when you are you in the mood for something that screams LOOK AT ME!!!, The Twisted Cow is your place.

I am that same little girl with the weird hair just taller with a better stylist.
